The Adult Sacred Dance community at Springhouse is truly remarkable.

By Jared Gellert

I’ve done a lot of personal development in my time.  It often takes the form of a bunch of strangers getting together, doing some solid work in an effective container, everyone feels great.  Then the seminar high wears off, folks discover that they haven’t been miraculously transformed, their checking account and their relationships aren’t as robust as they thought they would be, and the weight of a dysfunctional culture and the lack of community drags us all back down.  Maybe we are a little bit ahead of where we were if we hadn’t participated in this wonderful seminar, but we’re basically pretty close to where we started.  That’s how I actually met Jenny Finn, at a seminar like that.

Jenny gets that the secret sauce in creating the ongoing transformation that we and the planet need lies in molding an intergenerational community committed to the work and to the community. Here’s another remarkable thing about the community; it’s not just about Jenny but about all of us who participate.  We get to both do our own personal work and contribute to everyone else’s work.  It is a great treasure.  I am truly grateful for my opportunity to participate during the Sacred Dance Retreats.  I wish there were something like this closer to me or I lived close enough to Floyd to participate in the Sacred Dance Series.  Alas I don’t, so I look forward to the next Sacred Dance Retreat on  April 3-5, seeing existing friends and making some new ones, deepening our community.
