What Do I Value the Most about Springhouse Community School?

It is the interaction and relationships between my teens and other adults in the community and beyond that I value most about Springhouse. Going to school at Springhouse is not unlike showing up for work in the adult world. My kids email other adults regarding mentoring meetings, they are held accountable by other adults and young adults to really show up and honor commitments, and they are daily given the opportunity to grow and expand beyond their edges, beyond their comfortable, self-imposed parameters. They plan projects and hold meetings. They organize weeklong experience trips. They recognize that their opinions and feedback aren’t only authentically requested, but also honored. They feel important and necessary to their school family - like a piece of a puzzle that would feel otherwise incomplete without them. At a time in their lives when they begin to separate from their parents, teenagers at Springhouse have the chance to connect with their community in ways that feed their primal desire to feel accepted by others.
