Final Concert in Winter Theater Series

- Written by Carolyn Reilly, Springhouse Parent and Adult Programming Participant -

Families from Springhouse Community School are finishing up their Winter Theater Series with a performance by Wesley McCune, a classically-trained pianist who retired from teaching in 2016. Performing "PIANO MUSIC THAT HIT THE TOP OF THE CHARTS DURING THE LAST 350 YEARS,” the program will include music by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Khachaturian and Gershwin. An original McCune composition will also be performed.

Family Teacher Organization (FTO) Fundraising Chair, Cassie Pierce, shared, “The winter series of events have been wonderful opportunities to bring awareness about Springhouse Community School while also raising money for the students and their service work while on experience week trips.” Pierce concluded, “We’re grateful for the support from attendees and the way Springhouse continues to cultivate community through creative programming.”

McCune added, “I am very pleased to be able to support Springhouse School. With so many educators relating everything to test scores, it's refreshing to see a philosophy of nurturing creative growth and development, and community involvement. An ideal approach that is actually preparing students to enter the modern world!”
