A Light in the Dark

"If we teach young people to run away from the darkness

rather than to open up the light in the darkness,

to be the candles, the signposts, then we are doing great harm

to them and the communities that they have come out of."

~ Vincent Harding

May COVID-19 Update

We are a light in the dark.

Please take a moment to watch this video. I want you to know, as co-founder and Head of School, that I'm speaking from my heart and soul.

We are all navigating these challenging times and our future is unknown. At Springhouse, we are holding onto life-giving values and to a deep sense of belonging to ourselves, community, and our world, the earth.

We continue to hold our candles amidst chaos, embracing what is while also supporting the teens who need rooted and secure adults more than ever. My invitation is for you to join us for our 2nd Annual Gathering. This is an opportunity to connect with our community of light-bearers while also bringing your light to share with us. Click HERE to register. I hope to see you then!

April COVID-19 Update

Springhouse is NOT closed. While our lovely, new facility is not in use by our learning community right now, Springhouse continues to thrive and grow. We are reimagining, at an even deeper level, what it looks like to connect and learn together in the midst of a global pandemic.

Springhouse has always provided opportunities for young people and adults to cultivate the light in themselves to shine it more fully in a world that needs it. This is so important, always, but it is especially important in challenging times like these. What is often seen as “soft skills” or secondary to learning, Springhouse has put at the center of our curriculum from the

very beginning – things like relationship, self-awareness, creativity, and resiliency. These things matter; they always have.

As a result of our core values, a dedicated team, and our collective embrace of the unknown, we are choosing to face the current crisis with deep love and ingenuity. We will be posting resources and informational updates on this page. We are also launching a second email communication to inspire and invite readers to respond to our current crisis with love and come out of this stronger.
