As the young girl grew up, however, schoolwork became more important than her deep wonder and imagination. The Fire Within

~ Written by Carolyn Reilly, Springhouse Parent and Adult Programming Participant ~ My youngest daughter and I camped out in the pouring rain this past Friday night. We joined together with other moms and their daughters in a final culminating event as a part of the Springhouse Rites of Passage program for young girls called Tides. The girls spent time learning how to tend a fire, both literally and their own inner fire. They also learned about the transformations that will be happening to their bodies and what being female means to them.
