TEENAGERS AND STRESS:
A RESEARCH AND ARTISTIC COLLABORATION WITH THE BEEHIVE DESIGN COLLECTIVE
SCS collaborated with the Beehive Design Collective to produce a mural that depicts the educational experiences of teenagers today. Students interviewed and surveyed nearly 100 teenagers about their experience as an adolescent. This project lasted about six months where students learned about mind mapping, surveying, research methods, compiling information into meaningful products, converting ideas into images to tell a story, how to organize and manage a complex project, and how to educate others using images. Students presented this project to their community at the final SCS presentation night and received credits in the following subject areas for this project: career and technical education, creative arts, computer technology, and social sciences.
